1. Introduction

1.1 Car Events Ltd (“CarEvents.com”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12698619). Registered office: The Motorist, Lennerton Lane, Sherburn In Elmet, Leeds, England, LS25 6JE.

1.2 We provide an online platform and mobile application that allow users to discover automotive events and facilitate the sale and delivery of tickets on behalf of independent event organisers, promoters, venues, clubs and similar partners (“Event Organisers”). We do not stage or operate events directly.

1.3 We act as a disclosed agent, marketplace and fulfilment partner for Event Organisers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, your contract of sale for any ticket or package (“Tickets”) is with the relevant Event Organiser, not with CarEvents.com.

1.4 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the CarEvents.com Services powered by DriveLife, including our websites, mobile applications and related services (the “Services”). They incorporate our Refund & Exchange Policy and our Privacy & Cookie Policy. Please read all applicable terms before using the Services or purchasing Tickets.

1.5 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law.

1.6 Our associated mobile application “DriveLife” is owned and operated by Car Events Ltd and forms part of the same ecosystem. Where the DriveLife App enables event discovery, ticket purchase or profile linking to CarEvents.com, these Terms apply equally. Additional in-app conditions may be shown within the App or its app store listing.

2. Definitions

Platform” means our website(s) and app(s). “Services” means the services we provide via the Platform. “Event” means the event for which Tickets are listed. “Face Value” means the price of a Ticket before service or processing fees and taxes.

3. Your Account & Eligibility

  • 3.1 To buy Tickets you must be at least 16. If you are 16 to 17, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian and meet any age restrictions set by the Event or venue.
  • 3.2 To sell Tickets or use organiser tools you must be at least 18, have legal capacity and be authorised to bind the Event Organiser.
  • 3.3 Keep your account details accurate and secure. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent limits or restrictions.
  • 3.4 Do not use the Services for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts, cancel orders and report suspected unlawful activity to authorities and relevant Event Organisers.
  • 3.5 To close your account, email members@carevents.com. Closure takes effect after any Events for which you hold Tickets have taken place.

4. Contract Formation & Applicable Terms

  • 4.1 When you purchase, you enter into a binding contract with the Event Organiser, subject to: (i) these Terms; (ii) any Event or Ticket specific conditions; and (iii) the Event Organiser’s and venue’s terms (including conditions of entry).
  • 4.2 Read all applicable terms before buying. If you do not agree, do not proceed with the purchase.
  • 4.3 We may update these Terms periodically. The version in force at the time you complete your purchase applies to that purchase.

5. Prices, Fees & Payment

  • 5.1 Accepted payment methods include Visa and Mastercard (processed via Stripe) and PayPal where offered. Payment processing services are provided by third parties on their terms. We do not store full card details.
  • 5.2 Prices are set by Event Organisers. Any service or processing fees, booking fees and taxes (including VAT where applicable) will be disclosed before checkout.
  • 5.3 Orders are subject to authorisation, fraud checks and other security checks. We may cancel any order that fails or is later reversed or charged back.
  • 5.4 Check your order carefully before confirming. We may be unable to correct mistakes after purchase.

6. Order Confirmation & Delivery

If you do not receive confirmation after payment, check your account and spam or junk folders. Do not assume an order failed or succeeded solely because an email did or did not arrive. Tickets are delivered electronically (download in your account or by email). You are responsible for providing a valid email address and accessing your Tickets in good time.

7. Event Information and Accuracy

Event Organisers are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of Event information, including dates, times, locations, admission rules, capacity and any changes. CarEvents.com does not verify all Event listings. You are responsible for checking Event details and any updates before travelling or attending.

8. Ticket Ownership & Restrictions

  • 8.1 Tickets remain the property of the Event Organiser and constitute a personal, revocable licence that may be withdrawn in accordance with applicable terms.
  • 8.2 Purchase limits may apply per person, card, household or account. We may cancel Tickets purchased in excess of limits or via automated means such as bots or scrapers.
  • 8.3 Unless expressly permitted by the Event Organiser and law, Tickets must not be resold or transferred. Unauthorised resale or transfer may result in cancellation and refusal of entry.
  • 8.4 Tickets must not be used for promotions, competitions or packages, for example travel or hospitality bundles, without prior written consent from the Event Organiser. Any trade mark use requires prior written consent of the owner.

9. Event Entry, Venue Rules & Safety

Event times and content may change. Late admission is not guaranteed. Admission is subject to venue and Event Organiser terms. Searches may be conducted. Prohibited items and unsafe conduct, including dangerous driving, may result in refusal or removal without refund. Follow all safety instructions. Prolonged exposure to loud noise can damage hearing. Please take appropriate precautions.

10. User Interactions

The Services may allow you to communicate with other users, Event Organisers, venues, clubs or third parties. You are solely responsible for your interactions, both online and in person. CarEvents.com does not control, endorse or guarantee any user, organiser or attendee conduct. Any meeting, transaction or attendance is at your own risk.

11. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Material Alterations

  • 11.1 We will use reasonable endeavours to share updates we receive from Event Organisers, but you are responsible for checking if an Event is cancelled, rescheduled or materially altered.
  • 11.2 Cancellation: If the Event is cancelled outright, you will ordinarily be entitled to a refund of the Ticket Face Value, and where required by law applicable fees. Refund logistics may be handled by the Event Organiser or the payment processor. Timeframes may vary.
  • 11.3 Rescheduling: Tickets usually remain valid for the new date. If you cannot attend, the Event Organiser sets the process and deadline for refund requests.
  • 11.4 Material alteration: If the Event changes significantly from reasonable expectation, you may request a remedy per the organiser’s policy.
  • 11.5 Refunds and exchanges are handled under our Refund & Exchange Policy, including any stated time limits. Ticket processing, booking or service fees are non-refundable unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

12. Statutory Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts)

Tickets for leisure services on specific dates are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Once purchased, Tickets generally cannot be cancelled, exchanged or refunded except as set out in Section 11 or as otherwise required by law.

13. User Content, Media & Intellectual Property

  • 13.1 If you upload or supply content, including images, video, audio, logos or text, you warrant you have all necessary rights and that the content does not infringe third-party rights, breach privacy or contain unlawful material.
  • 13.2 You grant CarEvents.com and DriveLife a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, display, distribute, index and promote such content in connection with your listing and the Platform, including in search results, marketing and social posts, for the life of the listing and a reasonable archival or marketing period thereafter.
  • 13.3 We may moderate or remove content on receipt of a credible complaint or where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law.

14. Prohibited Content

You must not upload, post, submit or publish any content that:

  • (a) is unlawful or promotes unlawful activity;
  • (b) is hateful, discriminatory or incites violence;
  • (c) is sexually explicit or pornographic;
  • (d) is fraudulent, deceptive, misleading or impersonates another person or organisation;
  • (e) infringes intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights or other third-party rights;
  • (f) contains viruses, malware or other harmful code;
  • (g) includes personal data of others without a lawful basis or permission; or
  • (h) promotes unauthorised commercial activity, advertising, ticket sales or merchandise sales.

We may remove content and restrict accounts where we reasonably believe content breaches these Terms or applicable law.

15. Hosting Provider & Safe Harbour Protection

CarEvents.com operates as a neutral hosting service provider under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002. We do not actively monitor or pre-screen content uploaded by users or Event Organisers. In accordance with law, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to material that is unlawful, infringing or in breach of these Terms once notified or otherwise aware.

To report alleged infringement, email info@carevents.com with your contact details, identification of the infringed work, the URL or location of the material, a good-faith statement of unauthorised use and a statement of accuracy and authority. We may suspend or terminate repeat infringers. Nothing in these Terms imposes a general monitoring obligation on us.

16. Third-Party Services & Integrations

The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party sites or services, including payment processors, ticketing providers, mapping or social platforms. Your use of such services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. CarEvents.com is not responsible for their content, availability, security or performance.

17. Photography, Filming & Privacy

By attending an Event, you acknowledge that you may be photographed or filmed for security or promotional purposes by the Event Organiser, venue, media or us where applicable. Resulting materials may be used in any media worldwide. You may submit an objection request to privacy@carevents.com. We handle personal data under our Privacy & Cookie Policy.

18. Prohibited Conduct & Fraud Prevention

We may cancel orders, void Tickets, restrict accounts and share information with Event Organisers and authorities where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, chargeback misuse or breaches of these Terms.

19. AI & Beta Features

Some features of the Services, including the DriveLife App, may use AI or experimental beta functionality. Outputs may contain errors and are provided as is. You remain responsible for verifying Event details with Event Organisers before relying on them.

By using beta or AI features, you agree that we may collect anonymised usage metrics to improve functionality. Do not use the App while driving. You are solely responsible for road safety and compliance with the Highway Code.

20. Device Permissions

Some features of the Services may require device permissions such as camera, photo library, notifications and location services. You can control permissions in your device settings. If you disable permissions, certain features may not function correctly.

21. Warranties, Indemnity & Your Responsibilities

You warrant that all account and purchase information you provide is true and accurate and that you will comply with applicable laws and these Terms. You agree to indemnify CarEvents.com and its officers, employees and agents against losses arising from your breach of these Terms or violation of law or third-party rights.

22. Liability

  • 22.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither we nor Event Organisers are liable for losses not caused by our breach, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or enjoyment, or wasted expenditure such as travel or accommodation.
  • 22.2 Except where the law requires otherwise, our total liability to you in connection with an Event and any Tickets is limited to the total amount you paid for those Tickets.
  • 22.3 Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or other liability that cannot be limited by law.
  • 22.4 We are not responsible for internet connectivity issues or failures of third-party processors, venues or Event Organisers.
  • 22.5 Force majeure: We are not liable for delay or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control.

23. Attendance at Events is at Your Own Risk

Attendance at events and participation in driving-related activities carry inherent risks, including property damage, personal injury and death. By choosing to attend an Event, you accept and assume all risks that are not caused by our negligence. You are responsible for your own safety, vehicle condition, insurance and compliance with the Highway Code and Event rules.

24. Changes to the Services & to These Terms

We may modify the Platform or Services at any time. We may update these Terms. The version shown at checkout applies to each purchase.

25. Queries, Complaints & Contact

Event-specific issues should be raised with the Event Organiser in the first instance. Platform or account support: info@carevents.com for general queries, members@carevents.com for membership matters and privacy@carevents.com for privacy.

26. General

  • 26.1 No delay or failure to enforce these Terms constitutes a waiver.
  • 26.2 Each provision operates separately. If any provision is invalid, the remainder continues in force.
  • 26.3 We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms provided your rights are not materially affected. You may not assign without our consent.
  • 26.4 These Terms are governed by English law. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  • 26.5 A person who is not a party may enforce terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 where expressly stated.

27. Termination and Survival

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the Services or where required for legal or security reasons. Clauses which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including clauses covering user content licences, prohibited content, safe harbour protection, indemnity, limitation of liability, governing law and dispute provisions.
