This is one of the longest running Wiscombe Park events – held for the first time in 1976. The event is organised by Bristol, Plymouth, Taunton and Burnham-on-Sea Motor Clubs (Haldon MC folded in 1996).
And it is another action-packed event – this is what we have for you:
Wiscombe Park Tillicoultry Quarries Hillclimb Championship – Rounds 7 & 8
Hamilton Motorsport ACSMC Hillclimb Championship – Rounds 13 & 14
Downton MC Speed Series – Rounds 24 & 25
Fusion Fostering ASWMC Hillclimb Championship – Rounds 13 & 14
Gilbern Owners Club
This is the exciting part of the season when some drivers are looking to make up ground from earlier in the season, and those leading championships want to consolidate their positions – it will be pedal to the metal!
We have had three different leaders in our Wiscombe Championship – James Hudson, Julian Rinaldi, and currently, Ian Ingleheart…..who will be leading the Championship after the Five Clubs?
We also have the Gilbern Owners Club in action competing for the Gilbern OC Wiscombe Cup and Ken Young Cup. This classic Welsh marque have a long association with Wiscombe Park – they first competed here in 1962. The cars were manufactured between 1959 and 1973. It is always a spectacle to see them in action – powered by MGB and Ford engines. Look out for Mark Jones in his Genie – fitted with a Cosworth 2.3 Litre engine that was fitted in the iconic Mercedes 190E produced in 1990. Rapid, spectacular and sometimes sideways!
