This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules that apply when using Carevents to create, promote, manage or sell tickets for events.
By using Carevents, creating an event, selling tickets or connecting a PayPal account to Carevents, you agree to comply with this Policy, our Terms and Conditions, all applicable laws and regulations, and any applicable third-party payment provider terms.
Carevents provides tools that allow event organisers to create and promote events, manage attendees and, where available, accept payments for tickets.
Where an organiser connects their own PayPal account to Carevents, payments for tickets are processed through PayPal and are paid to the organiser’s connected PayPal account. Carevents does not act as the seller of the event tickets, does not hold ticket proceeds on behalf of organisers, and does not act as a payment processor or payment service provider for those transactions.
The event organiser is responsible for the event, the tickets being sold, the goods or services being provided to attendees, and all associated payments, refunds, cancellations, disputes, chargebacks, taxes and legal obligations.
Organisers must maintain a valid PayPal account and comply with PayPal’s applicable terms and policies, including its Acceptable Use Policy.
PayPal may refuse, restrict, hold or reverse payments, or limit or suspend an account, where permitted under its own terms and policies. Carevents has no control over such decisions.
When using Carevents, organisers must:
Carevents must not be used to create, promote or sell tickets for any event, activity, product or service that:
This includes any event or activity that violates applicable laws or regulations in the jurisdiction where the event takes place, where the organiser is located, or where the relevant transaction is conducted.
Unless expressly approved by Carevents and, where required, PayPal and the relevant authorities, organisers must not use Carevents for:
Organisers are responsible for obtaining any required licences or approvals. The fact that an activity may be legal in a particular jurisdiction does not necessarily mean that it is permitted through PayPal or Carevents.
Carevents must not be used to sell, promote or facilitate transactions involving prohibited goods or services, including, where applicable:
Certain categories of goods, services or activities may be permitted only with prior approval from PayPal or another relevant provider. Organisers must obtain such approval before accepting payments through Carevents.
Organisers must not use Carevents to:
Organisers must not use Carevents to promote events or content that unlawfully encourages or facilitates:
Organisers who accept payments through PayPal must ensure that their use of PayPal is permitted under PayPal’s current policies.
PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy prohibits certain transactions and requires prior approval for certain categories of activity. These requirements can change from time to time.
Organisers are responsible for reviewing and complying with the current PayPal policies applicable to their account and activities.
Carevents does not guarantee that PayPal will approve, process or continue processing payments for any particular event or organiser.
Carevents may require an organiser to provide additional information about an event or may prevent payments from being accepted where we reasonably believe that the event or transaction may breach this Policy, PayPal’s requirements or applicable law.
The organiser is responsible for managing cancellations, postponements, refunds and customer disputes relating to their event.
Where an event is cancelled, postponed or materially changed, the organiser must communicate this clearly to ticket holders and provide any refund required by applicable law or the organiser’s published terms.
Organisers must not deliberately encourage customers to initiate fraudulent or misleading payment disputes or chargebacks.
Repeated complaints, chargebacks, refund failures or other indicators of potentially problematic activity may result in Carevents restricting or suspending an organiser’s account.
By creating an event on Carevents, the organiser confirms that they are responsible for:
Carevents does not independently verify that every event complies with these requirements and does not assume responsibility for the acts or omissions of event organisers.
If Carevents reasonably believes that an organiser, event or transaction breaches this Policy, our Terms and Conditions, PayPal’s policies or applicable law, we may take appropriate action, including:
Where appropriate, we may take action without prior notice where necessary to protect Carevents, our users, payment providers or third parties.
Nothing in this Policy requires Carevents to investigate or identify every breach before taking action.
If you believe that an event listed on Carevents involves illegal activity, fraud, prohibited goods or services, misleading information, or otherwise breaches this Policy, please contact us through the contact details provided on the Carevents website.
We may investigate reported concerns and take appropriate action where we consider it necessary.
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, applicable laws, payment-provider requirements or other operational requirements.
The latest version will be published on the Carevents website and will take effect from the date shown at the top of the Policy.
PayPal is an independent third-party payment provider. Organisers who connect PayPal to Carevents are entering into a separate relationship with PayPal and are responsible for complying with PayPal’s applicable terms and policies.
Nothing in this Policy overrides or replaces PayPal’s terms or policies. Where PayPal imposes additional restrictions on an organiser or transaction, those restrictions continue to apply.
For the avoidance of doubt, compliance with this Policy does not guarantee approval by PayPal or any other payment provider.
This Acceptable Use Policy should be read alongside Carevents’ Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and any other policies applicable to use of the Carevents platform.
